In the 16th minute Dimitri Verhulst shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederic Roosendael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Terry Vischkens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doncaster Rovers's Brent de Pelsmakere played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Terry Vischkens in the 21st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Buggenhout's zone, Ivo Kerckmans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frederic Roosendael came out of the goal and Ivo Kerckmans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frederic Roosendael showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitri Verhulst, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Brent de Pelsmakere showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Terry Vischkens, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Ivo Kerckmans in the 64thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Frederic Roosendael, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Ivo Kerckmans came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Doncaster Rovers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivo Kerckmans couldn't finish the play. When Koen Boegaerts fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buggenhout's protests and gave Koen Boegaerts a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st match minute, Buggenhout was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Koen Boegaerts to maneuver through the defense. Ivo Kerckmans took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Frederic Roosendael. Frederic Roosendael dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 83 minutes into the match, Doncaster Rovers's goal looked a bit too open when Jef van haeve came free, but Brent de Pelsmakere reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Jef van haeve managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buggenhout's supporters rose to their feet, but Jef van haeve was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brent de Pelsmakere breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 85 played minutes Doncaster Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Jo Antheunis. Jef van haeve recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 91 minutes, Terry Vischkens made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Doncaster Rovers's Brent de Pelsmakere tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Ivo Kerckmans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Doncaster Rovers players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Buggenhout.
