Dolf Tilemans's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Staf Van Hoght read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Dolf Tilemans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Staf Van Hoght having to interfere. Robbe Demeyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Staf Van Hoght tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to KFC Maagdeveld getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Tibau Denys hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, SK Westrozebeke's Diego Struijf broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 19 minutes into the match, KFC Maagdeveld's goal looked a bit too open when Robbe Demeyer came free, but Staf Van Hoght reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robbe Demeyer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Staf Van Hoght read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Staf Van Hoght showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robbe Demeyer, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Dimitri Tael sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robbe Demeyer in the 33rd minute of play forced KFC Maagdeveld's goalkeeper Staf Van Hoght to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th match minute, SK Westrozebeke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron De Jaeger to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the game, Christiaan Roelandts recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Frederick Van Lint. Christiaan Roelandts showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robbe Demeyer in the 42nd minute of play forced KFC Maagdeveld's goalkeeper Staf Van Hoght to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dolf Tilemans took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Staf Van Hoght. Staf Van Hoght dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dolf Tilemans to strike the kick off in the second half. Robbe Demeyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Staf Van Hoght tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jannick Van Der Linden fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Westrozebeke's protests and gave Jannick Van Der Linden a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of KFC Maagdeveld booed when SK Westrozebeke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jannick Van Der Linden didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 56 minutes, Christiaan Roelandts managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Maagdeveld's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christiaan Roelandts was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Dolf Tilemans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dimitri Tael hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. 68 minutes into the match, KFC Maagdeveld's goalkeeper Staf Van Hoght had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robbe Demeyer. Staf Van Hoght made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dolf Tilemans in the 70th minute of play. KFC Maagdeveld's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Bavo Imberechts scored to the left of an out of position Staf Van Hoght, making the score, 1-2. In the 76th minute, Jannick Van Der Linden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SK Westrozebeke's Frederick Van Lint played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christiaan Roelandts in the 79th minute of play. SK Westrozebeke's Robbe Demeyer got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Dimitri Tael hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute SK Westrozebeke were awarded a corner. Diego Struijf went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on SK Westrozebeke's corner Diego Struijf fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Staf Van Hoght quite easily take care of the ball. The SK Westrozebeke supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SK Westrozebeke would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
