After a defensive mix-up in Gençlerbirliği SK's zone, Andy Verbeke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cyprian Harendarski came out of the goal and Andy Verbeke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andy Verbeke who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Cyprian Harendarski when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sebastien Vlimmens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to VC DE Leeuwkens getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Gustaaf De Ketelaere hit a great ball. Sebastien Vlimmens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Christoffel Van Eijcke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Freek Maeijnaerts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karel Klopterop having to interfere. A collision led to VC DE Leeuwkens getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Gustaaf De Ketelaere hit a great ball. Cyprian Harendarski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christoffel Van Eijcke in the 61st minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Andy Verbeke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Freek Maeijnaerts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Karel Klopterop made an important save on a dangerous shot by Freek Maeijnaerts in the 67th minute. Dirk Van Leemput hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute, Sebastien Vlimmens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 74th minute, Gençlerbirliği SK's Sebastien Vlimmens ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Karel Klopterop. Karel Klopterop yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Joris Van Poucke's late challenge caught a VC DE Leeuwkens's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joris Van Poucke helped the player get up and apologised. The tension between the VC DE Leeuwkens and the Gençlerbirliği SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastien Vlimmens in the 93rd minute of play forced VC DE Leeuwkens's goalkeeper Karel Klopterop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Freek Maeijnaerts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
