In the 18thth minute of the game Kenney Lanphant who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VC DE Leeuwkens's Karel Klopterop was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Karel Klopterop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Wagemans in the 19th minute of play. If Jonathan Wagemans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andy Verbeke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 0-1 became the score in the 36th minute when Kenney Lanphant elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Kenney Lanphant's late challenge caught a VC DE Leeuwkens's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kenney Lanphant helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th match minute, VC Tginee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenney Lanphant to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Karel Klopterop made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Jonathan Wagemans sent off a good shot on target. If Andy Verbeke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute Christoffel Van Eijcke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steffen Vanderhaege saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
