Dylan van der Eycken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rudi Schepmans in the 11th minute of the match. Dylan van der Eycken came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Team invaSion's Karl Van Hemel. But to his dismay, Karl Van Hemel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Julius Grauwen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Olivier Hoeybroeck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thommy Wils was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 19th minute. Halen's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Karl Van Hemel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thommy Wils in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olivier Hoeybroeck saved Team invaSion from getting behind. In the 35th minute, Jeff Brabant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julius Grauwen got free with Olivier Hoeybroeck in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute Thommy Wils shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olivier Hoeybroeck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julius Grauwen in the 46thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Olivier Hoeybroeck, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thommy Wils stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Karl Van Hemel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. After 87 minutes, Charles-Antoine Algoedt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Team invaSion and the Halen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some careless play in the Team invaSion defense, Lennart Libesoons kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olivier Hoeybroeck. The Team invaSion fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olivier Hoeybroeck should have stopped the shot. The Team invaSion supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Team invaSion would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
