ARENA OFF THE DUCKS
Spectators: 7518 (Terracing: 5639, Seating: 1729, VIP seats: 150) Rudi Schepmans made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 4th minute, Godfried Laeremans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rudi Schepmans's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexandre Dekeyser read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Karl Van Hemel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Dekeyser having to interfere. Rudi Schepmans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Team invaSion! If Laurend Van Gijsel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olivier Hoeybroeck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Godfried Laeremans's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Rudi Schepmans had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexandre Dekeyser. Mighty Ducks's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rudi Schepmans was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Karl Van Hemel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Dekeyser having to interfere. Olivier Hoeybroeck didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gabriel Vervoort went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 41 minutes into the game, Karl Van Hemel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Alexandre Dekeyser was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Godfried Laeremans stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Eric Van Arschot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rudi Schepmans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eric Van Arschot's late challenge caught a Team invaSion's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eric Van Arschot helped the player get up and apologised. In the 57th match minute, Mighty Ducks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Van Arschot to maneuver through the defense. If Godfried Laeremans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Mighty Ducks's Gabriel Vervoort, in the 71st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Mighty Ducks. After 76 played minutes, Mighty Ducks's Mickael Haesevoets shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Olivier Hoeybroeck came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mighty Ducks reached it. Karl Van Hemel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Alexandre Dekeyser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Karl Van Hemel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Mighty Ducks's Alexandre Dekeyser got control of the ball when Karl Van Hemel tried to sneak it across the goal line. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
