The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Christof Van Dock kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Yoachim Van Bettenrode hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marnix Wans in the 11th minute of play forced SC Brussels's goalkeeper Jannis Ivens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frank Valckx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Vandeput having to interfere. KVSK Yvoir's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Frank Valckx scored to the left of an out of position Jacob Vandeput, making the score, 1-1. In the 23rd minute KVSK Yvoir were awarded a corner. Ivan De Vriendt went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led KVSK Yvoir's Ivan De Vriendt to fire away a dangerous shot which Jannis Ivens despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 25 minutes, Jaspar De Bougne mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Brussels and the KVSK Yvoir players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of KVSK Yvoir booed when SC Brussels was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaspar De Bougne didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Brussels's zone, Christof Van Dock stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jannis Ivens came out of the goal and Christof Van Dock tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the match, Rein Van de Weijer notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of SC Brussels's Jannis Ivens. Jannis Ivens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jacob Vandeput made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaspar De Bougne in the 31st minute of play. SC Brussels's Jannis Ivens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christof Van Dock in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute Christof Van Dock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jannis Ivens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jannis Ivens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christof Van Dock in the 40th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Christof Van Dock's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jannis Ivens was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. In the 45th minute Rein Van de Weijer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jannis Ivens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Frank Valckx kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jacob Vandeput. That made the score 2-2 in the 48 minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Valckx to make the kick off. Jannis Ivens was a little too slow when Marnix Wans got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 54th minute. The score was now 2-3. Frederic Goorts's late challenge caught a KVSK Yvoir's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frederic Goorts helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd match minute, SC Brussels was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frederic Goorts to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute, Rein Van de Weijer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jannis Ivens was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Frank Valckx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Vandeput having to interfere. Jannis Ivens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marnix Wans in the 79th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Frank Valckx got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 84 minutes into the match, KVSK Yvoir's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Valckx came free, but Jacob Vandeput reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Valckx in the 86th minute of play forced KVSK Yvoir's goalkeeper Jacob Vandeput to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frank Valckx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Valckx struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Jacob Vandeput didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Brussels. Jacob Vandeput made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Valckx in the 98th minute of play. The SC Brussels supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching KVSK Yvoir's performance. The match ended with a win for KVSK Yvoir.
