Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Beveren's Rolf De Vreese started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Beveren was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustave Van Mellaert to maneuver through the defense. Michael Weets was a little too slow when Isidoor Van Calster got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 1-0. A collision led to Beveren getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Joeri Du Bois hit a great ball. George Michiels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Weets having to interfere. After 23 minutes, Freddy Switten mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dooren and the Beveren players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd minute, Freddy Switten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Beveren's Jaspar Verheije tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Francois Schouters made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rolf De Vreese in the 25th minute of play. Isidoor Van Calster recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Michael Weets made an important save on a dangerous shot by George Michiels in the 28th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Isidoor Van Calster in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Michael Weets saved Beveren from getting behind. Isidoor Van Calster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Michael Weets tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tommas Van der Weijden's late challenge caught a Dooren's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tommas Van der Weijden helped the player get up and apologised. Michael Weets was a little too slow when Isidoor Van Calster got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Isidoor Van Calster stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Gustave Van Mellaert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Isidoor Van Calster in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Michael Weets saved Beveren from getting behind. In the 55th minute Freddy Switten suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 56 played minutes Beveren got a freekick which was hit by Joeri Du Bois. Gust Ivens hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After having played for 60 minutes, Rolf De Vreese managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beveren's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rolf De Vreese was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If George Michiels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michael Weets showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Michiels in the 63rd minute of the match. George Michiels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Michael Weets tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Beveren's goal looked a bit too open when George Michiels came free, but Michael Weets reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rene Dekker struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Michael Weets didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dooren. In the 75thth minute of the game George Michiels who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Beveren's Michael Weets was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Sander De Roeck fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Beveren's protests and gave Sander De Roeck a yellow card for diving instead. George Michiels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ief Soens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Michael Weets made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Michiels in the 80th minute of play. Rene Dekker scored 3-0 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Michael Weets, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. George Michiels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Michael Weets tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91stth minute of the game George Michiels who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Beveren's Michael Weets was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dooren's Francois Schouters proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Dooren from getting a goal against them. Dooren's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
