When Stan De Vleeschauwer fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bergwijk's protests and gave Stan De Vleeschauwer a yellow card for diving instead. If Isidoor Van Calster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. Dooren's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Hendrik Stas scored to the left of an out of position Francois Schouters, making the score, 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hendrik Stas to make the kick off.
