When the match had been going on for 7 minutes, SK Heiberg's Jacobus Gijselinckx got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Brend Fondria. SK Heiberg's Ief Meeus got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brend Fondria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ief Meeus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ief Meeus came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the SK Heiberg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ief Meeus couldn't finish the play. SK Heiberg's Renzo De Hertoghe suffered a sore thigh after 16 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Frits Jans charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frits Jans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Seraing United's Frits Jans got a free kick in the 17th minute. Stan Geijselinckx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Brend Fondria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 21 minutes of play, SK Heiberg's Guido Leenknecht made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brend Fondria was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Ief Meeus managed to get in a good position for a shot. SK Heiberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Ief Meeus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brend Fondria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 28 minutes into the match, Didier Kant dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Brend Fondria, 3-0. Corneel Ourogge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd match minute, SK Heiberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ief Meeus to maneuver through the defense. If Frits Jans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Corneel Ourogge came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Seraing United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Corneel Ourogge couldn't finish the play.

Ief Meeus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yannik Segers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frits Jans, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. The supporters of Seraing United booed when SK Heiberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stan Geijselinckx didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SK Heiberg's zone, Corneel Ourogge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yannik Segers came out of the goal and Corneel Ourogge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Stan Geijselinckx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee ignored Seraing United's protests and gave Corneel Ourogge a yellow card for diving instead.
