Alexandre Lanphan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Schipmans having to interfere. Laurent Wortelers was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 9 minutes into the match. When Luke Coeckelberghs came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the KFC L fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luke Coeckelberghs couldn't finish the play. Jean Roels made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luke Coeckelberghs in the 16th minute of play. If Norbert Stercks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jean Roels showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luke Coeckelberghs in the 22nd minute of the match. If Nico Van Acker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nico Van Acker in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean Roels saved KV Etterbeek from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luke Coeckelberghs in the 34th minute of play forced KV Etterbeek's goalkeeper Jean Roels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nico Van Acker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luke Coeckelberghs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jean Roels read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Olivier Van Huytvenne was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KFC L's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KV Etterbeek the free kick. The supporters of KV Etterbeek booed when KFC L was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olivier Van Huytvenne didn't get a good kick on the ball. KV Etterbeek's Alexandre Lanphan got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd match minute, KFC L was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norbert Stercks to maneuver through the defense. If Luke Coeckelberghs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luke Coeckelberghs made a kick off. If Nico Van Acker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes into the match, Luke Coeckelberghs dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jean Roels, 0-1. KV Etterbeek's Jean Roels proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save KV Etterbeek from getting a goal against them. Jean Roels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luke Coeckelberghs struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Jean Roels didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC L. When Alexandre Lanphan came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the KV Etterbeek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Lanphan couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Guust Vanneste managed to get in a good position for a shot. KV Etterbeek's supporters rose to their feet, but Guust Vanneste was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henk Schipmans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lukas Verstuyft took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Henk Schipmans. KFC L's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 94th minute, Alexandre Lanphan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KV Etterbeek fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
