After a defensive mix-up in KFC L's zone, Joannes Lambert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henk Schipmans came out of the goal and Joannes Lambert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 14 minutes into the match, Pieter-Jan Wils had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henk Schipmans. KFC L's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pieter-Jan Wils was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Pieter-Jan Wils had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Wicked Hippies FC's goalkeeper Joseph Leers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Wicked Hippies FC's Pieter-Jan Wils sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Henk Schipmans narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, Wicked Hippies FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luke Coeckelberghs came free, but Joseph Leers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Luke Coeckelberghs put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Joseph Leers. Joseph Leers was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luke Coeckelberghs showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 39 minute of play. The corner ended in Octaaf Justus almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Wicked Hippies FC's Joseph Leers did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luke Coeckelberghs in the 48th minute of play forced Wicked Hippies FC's goalkeeper Joseph Leers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Pieter-Jan Wils struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Henk Schipmans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wicked Hippies FC. 59 minutes into the game, Boudewijn Reyniers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wicked Hippies FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC L the free kick. Boudewijn Reyniers kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Nico Van Acker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. KFC L's Henk Schipmans proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save KFC L from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Joannes Lambert kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Henk Schipmans. That made the score 2-2 in the 64 minute of play. After 67 minutes, Olivier Van Huytvenne mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KFC L and the Wicked Hippies FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Wicked Hippies FC booed when KFC L was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olivier Van Huytvenne didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pieter-Jan Wils in the 68th minute of play forced KFC L's goalkeeper Henk Schipmans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henk Schipmans made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Joannes Lambert sent off a good shot on target. Joannes Lambert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Henk Schipmans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nico Van Acker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Leers having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Wicked Hippies FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nico Van Acker came free, but Joseph Leers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joannes Lambert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Schipmans having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joannes Lambert got free with Henk Schipmans in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Nico Van Acker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henk Schipmans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pieter-Jan Wils, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
