The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pieterjan Peeters to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Pieterjan Peeters sped through F.C Roeselare's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ivan Hemelaers. Ivan Hemelaers went to the wrong direction when Alexander De Worteler was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Wannes Delen was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 81st minute. F.C Roeselare's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Wannes Delen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as F.C Roeselare's Arno Ghesels slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Brain Van Aertvin. That made the score 3-2 after 90 minutes of play. F.C Roeselare's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because AFC Clermont had won, even though F.C Roeselare had held more of the ball.
