The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jorre Vandamme struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Mattheo Gijsbrechts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VC Vlekkem. In the 17th minute Michiel Vincx suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Ludwig Hombroeckx charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Benne Waterloos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in VC Vlekkem's zone, Cedric Roelants stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arne De Langhe came out of the goal and Cedric Roelants tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half VC Vlekkem were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind VC Vlekkem's goalkeeper Arne De Langhe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cedric Roelants fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne De Langhe having to interfere. If Cedric Roelants had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 played minutes Engis got a freekick which was hit by Jon Aelemans. Jorre Vandamme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 70 minutes of play Engis's Ludwig Hombroeckx was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Engis's Ludwig Hombroeckx got a free kick in the 71st minute. The Engis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mattheo Gijsbrechts should have stopped the shot. In the 85th minute, Matt Polspoel had to leave the field with a concussion. Alek Blomme kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched VC Vlekkem eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
