The audience thought a goal was coming when Stanny De Hondt got free with Mattheo Gijsbrechts in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Bavo Vinx took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Mattheo Gijsbrechts to make any attempt to save it. In the 47th minute, one of Engis:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Engis. When the match had been going on for 51 minutes, Genec FC's Denis Geijselinx got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Mattheo Gijsbrechts. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cedric Roelants was the one to do the kick off. 60 minutes into the match, Bavo Vinx had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mattheo Gijsbrechts. Engis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bavo Vinx was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. Alek Van Achter came out of the goal and Cedric Roelants tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bavo Vinx in the 76th minute of play forced Engis's goalkeeper Mattheo Gijsbrechts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geoffry De Schepper struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Mattheo Gijsbrechts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Genec FC. After having played for 82 minutes, Cedric Roelants managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Engis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cedric Roelants was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd match minute, Genec FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Piet Van Linthaut to maneuver through the defense. Cedric Roelants sent away a hard shot on goal in the 102nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
