Arne De Langhe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stanny De Hondt, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 22nd minute, Stanny De Hondt made a precise shot to the right of Arne De Langhe. VC Vlekkem's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bavo Vinx in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arne De Langhe saved VC Vlekkem from getting behind. Alek Van Achter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Van de Velde in the 28th minute of the match. VC Vlekkem's Matt Polspoel suffered a concussion in the 28th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Geoffry De Schepper fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Genec FC's protests and gave Geoffry De Schepper a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Genec FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Geoffry De Schepper hit a great ball. If Jorre Vandamme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bavo Vinx made a kick off. Jorre Vandamme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arne De Langhe was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 73rd match minute, Genec FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac De Kock to maneuver through the defense. Arne De Langhe made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Geoffry De Schepper sent off a good shot on target. Bavo Vinx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Genec FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bavo Vinx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Bavo Vinx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Genec FC's Stanny De Hondt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arne De Langhe. That made the score 1-3 after 90 minutes of play. Stanny De Hondt succeeded in the game's 94th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-4. The Genec FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Genec FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
