Spectators: 7604 (Terracing: 5704, Seating: 1749, VIP seats: 151) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lex Custermans took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Freek Schoenmaekers came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the FC Nieuwpoort fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freek Schoenmaekers couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute, Freek Schoenmaekers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 13thth minute of the game Lex Custermans who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Nieuwpoort's Loid Callens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Freek Schoenmaekers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mike De Reijck got free with Frederick Van Gijsel in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Kortsele's Waut Worteler got a free kick in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the match, FC Nieuwpoort's Robbrecht Maerschalks broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Sebastian Van Brusselen put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Loid Callens. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mike De Reijck got free with Frederick Van Gijsel in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Frederick Van Gijsel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Freek Schoenmaekers, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Mike De Reijck kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Lex Custermans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loid Callens having to interfere. In the 41st match minute, Kortsele was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daevy Van Hoegaerden to maneuver through the defense. 48 minutes into the match, Kortsele's goal looked a bit too open when Freek Schoenmaekers came free, but Frederick Van Gijsel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

After a rather tough play, Kortsele's Michael Klaes got a free kick in the 51st minute. Freek Schoenmaekers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frederick Van Gijsel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mike De Reijck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mike De Reijck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Frederick Van Gijsel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lex Custermans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Loid Callens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kortsele's zone, Freek Schoenmaekers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frederick Van Gijsel came out of the goal and Freek Schoenmaekers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastian Van Brusselen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loid Callens having to interfere. Loid Callens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lex Custermans in the 70th minute of the match. A collision led to FC Nieuwpoort getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Dimitry Marrant hit a great ball. When Daevy Van Hoegaerden was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 76 minutes had been played. In the 77th match minute, Kortsele was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daevy Van Hoegaerden to maneuver through the defense. In the game's 78th minute FC Nieuwpoort's Robbrecht Maerschalks took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Frederick Van Gijsel and thus the score was 1-1. Freek Schoenmaekers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Frederick Van Gijsel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86thth minute of the game Mike De Reijck who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kortsele's Frederick Van Gijsel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mike De Reijck in the 89th minute of play forced Kortsele's goalkeeper Frederick Van Gijsel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Loid Callens came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Kortsele's Lex Custermans. But to his dismay, Lex Custermans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. FC Nieuwpoort's Freek Schoenmaekers got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
