Spectators: 6600 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 100) In the 3rdth minute of the game Joe Van Eycke who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Assenede's Gunther Hulsen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gilbert Uijterhove blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilfried Roussel having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Gilbert Uijterhove's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilfried Roussel was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Wart Visch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Wilfried Roussel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 12 minutes, Wart Visch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Assenede's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wart Visch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Staden's zone, Gilbert Uijterhove stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilfried Roussel came out of the goal and Gilbert Uijterhove tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilbert Uijterhove scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilfried Roussel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Perry Van Meerbeec received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Gunther Hulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilfried Roussel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wart Visch in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to FC Assenede getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Nicolaas Bruynincx hit a great ball. After 34 minutes of play, FC Assenede's Gilbert Uijterhove made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilfried Roussel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Perry Van Meerbeec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gunther Hulsen having to interfere. Staden's Wilfried Roussel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wart Visch in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilbert Uijterhove was the one to do the kick off. Dominik Verlinden's late challenge caught a Staden's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dominik Verlinden helped the player get up and apologised. Dominik Verlinden kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC Assenede's zone, Joe Van Eycke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gunther Hulsen came out of the goal and Joe Van Eycke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gilbert Uijterhove had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute, Gilbert Uijterhove fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Wilfried Roussel, passed just outside the right post. If Wart Visch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Staden's Joe Van Eycke got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to FC Assenede getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Christian Ballette hit a great ball. After 81 played minutes Staden got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Louckx. Wilfried Roussel was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dominic Vollens. Perry Van Meerbeec received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Gunther Hulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Wart Visch made a precise shot to the right of Wilfried Roussel. Staden's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Robbin Van den Gans hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. FC Assenede's Gunther Hulsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Perry Van Meerbeec in the 95th minute of play. The Staden fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Assenede were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
