Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 5 minutes into the game, Jonas Reijniers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sclessin's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Assenede the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of Sclessin:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Assenede:s goal. 10 minutes into the game, Gilbert Uijterhove cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Harry Van Den Linden was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 12 played minutes FC Assenede got a freekick which was hit by Nicolaas Bruynincx. In the 22nd match minute, FC Assenede was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolaas Bruynincx to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Dreas Moerman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gunther Hulsen was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. 33 minutes into the match, Sclessin's goal looked a bit too open when Gilbert Uijterhove came free, but Harry Van Den Linden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harry Van Den Linden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilbert Uijterhove, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 38 played minutes FC Assenede got a freekick which was hit by Christian Ballette. Gunther Hulsen didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 41st minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. Dreas Moerman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gunther Hulsen having to interfere. After the first half FC Assenede were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dreas Moerman was the one to do the kick off. Robby de Nooter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Gunther Hulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dreas Moerman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilbert Uijterhove was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 64th minute. FC Assenede's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gilbert Uijterhove sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jammy Huvenaerts hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, FC Assenede's Harry Van Den Linden threw himself towards the right post 70 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gilbert Uijterhove, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 74th minute of the match, Gilbert Uijterhove tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Harry Van Den Linden saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dreas Moerman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 77th match minute, Sclessin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jammy Huvenaerts to maneuver through the defense. Wart Visch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Sclessin's zone, Wart Visch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harry Van Den Linden came out of the goal and Wart Visch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicolaas Bruynincx hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Gunther Hulsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dreas Moerman in the 88th minute of play. In the 89thth minute of the game Dreas Moerman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Assenede's Gunther Hulsen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Assenede walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
