Spectators: 6845 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1745, VIP seats: 100) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Raymond Vranx got the match started through his kick off. 14 minutes into the match, Putte's Henrik Schroons sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joseph Swiggers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Raymond Vranx put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Werner Van der Voert. Henrik Schroons received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Joseph Swiggers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Elens in the 22nd minute of play forced FC Maissin's goalkeeper Joseph Swiggers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henrik Schroons struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Joseph Swiggers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Putte. In the 32nd minute Gabriel Elens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Swiggers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Werner Van der Voert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danny Wouqier, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Gabriel Elens was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 36th minute. Putte's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Gabriel Elens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Putte's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Elens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joseph Swiggers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Danny Wouqier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sylvan Roscams hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Wesly De Ridder managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Maissin's supporters rose to their feet, but Wesly De Ridder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Werner Van der Voert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Putte players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Maissin were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Gabriel Elens made the kick off in the second half. A hard shot by Koen Coomans from long distance, 60 minutes into the match, got Werner Van der Voert's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Gabriel Elens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Swiggers having to interfere. Putte's Werner Van der Voert proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Putte from getting a goal against them. In the 82nd minute of the match Sylvan Roscams sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joseph Swiggers skillfully saved the ball. Danny Wouqier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Werner Van der Voert having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Putte's zone, Raymond Vranx stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Werner Van der Voert came out of the goal and Raymond Vranx tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Danny Wouqier might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Werner Van der Voert. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Danny Wouqier ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 95th minute, Danny Wouqier made a precise shot to the right of Werner Van der Voert. Putte's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The FC Maissin supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Maissin would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
