After a rather tough play, Desselgem's Gunter Van den Bergen got a free kick in the 3rd minute. With his leg Gerrit Vits managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when Desselgem's Matthieu De Ketelaere fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. ANTWERP FC's Gerrit Vits proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save ANTWERP FC from getting a goal against them. Henry Demeyer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matty Van Meerbek in the 12th minute of play forced Desselgem's goalkeeper Wart Gevaert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ANTWERP FC's Lennert Everaerts was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wart Gevaert in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maxim-Alexander Coekx during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, ANTWERP FC's Maxim-Alexander Coekx got a free kick in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Desselgem's Yanick Theys broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jonathan Wolfdoncx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ANTWERP FC's Gerrit Vits played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthieu De Ketelaere in the 34th minute of play. After 36 minutes of play ANTWERP FC's Maxim-Alexander Coekx was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 37 played minutes ANTWERP FC got a freekick which was hit by Maxim-Alexander Coekx. In the 39th match minute, ANTWERP FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matty Van Meerbek to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute, Gunter Van den Bergen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matty Van Meerbek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Henry Demeyer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wart Gevaert having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Matthieu De Ketelaere was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Henry Demeyer kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wart Gevaert. That made the score 1-1 in the 53 minute of play. Ryan Kest charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ryan Kest the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th minute, one of Desselgem:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Desselgem. Henry Demeyer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Wart Gevaert when he managed to save the team from getting behind. ANTWERP FC's Gerrit Vits played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthieu De Ketelaere in the 72nd minute of play. In the 78thth minute of the game Matthieu De Ketelaere who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ANTWERP FC's Gerrit Vits was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gerrit Vits took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthieu De Ketelaere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Desselgem's Mathis Rokeloos got a free kick in the 87th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Desselgem's goalkeeper Wart Gevaert had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henry Demeyer. In the 96th minute, Matty Van Meerbek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
