After a defensive mix-up in Real Spomob's zone, Jannes Stoffels stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronald Van Meerbeek came out of the goal and Jannes Stoffels tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SK Erwetegem's Jannes Stoffels got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Alphonse Van der Loock fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Erwetegem's protests and gave Alphonse Van der Loock a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Real Spomob booed when SK Erwetegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alphonse Van der Loock didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edward Vereeken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Xander-Paul De Ceijser's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frank Lanphant was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. 2-0 became the score in the 31st minute when Xander-Paul De Ceijser elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 38 minutes into the game, Nicolaas Vranckx cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Frank Lanphant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 41st match minute, Real Spomob was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gert-Jan Figaro to maneuver through the defense. Jannes Stoffels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to SK Erwetegem getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Henri-Patrick Verdun hit a great ball. Real Spomob's Kristiaan De Beer couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 48th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SK Erwetegem. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Frank Lanphant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xander-Paul De Ceijser, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 62nd minute, Edward Vereeken got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gert-Jan Figaro was shown his second yellow card after 63 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 66 minutes into the match, Real Spomob's goal looked a bit too open when Jannes Stoffels came free, but Ronald Van Meerbeek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Real Spomob's Ronald Van Meerbeek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vereeken in the 67th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Fred Struelens ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronald Van Meerbeek was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jannes Stoffels in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronald Van Meerbeek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Real Spomob's Ronald Van Meerbeek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jannes Stoffels in the 83rd minute of play. Edward Vereekens short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Ronald Van Meerbeek to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. SK Erwetegem's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
