Gerrit Vits dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 11th minute Marc Snieders shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerrit Vits saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 played minutes Rotem got a freekick which was hit by Pieterjan Lache. Gerrit Vits made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marc Snieders in the 17th minute of play. In the 18thth minute of the game Marc Snieders who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ANTWERP FC's Gerrit Vits was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Rotem's goal looked a bit too open when Matty Van Meerbek came free, but Dave Leerbels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to ANTWERP FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Yelle Debruyn hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind ANTWERP FC's goalkeeper Gerrit Vits, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Henry Demeyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Dave Leerbels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Rotem booed when ANTWERP FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timmy Bernaerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Joachim Versluys cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Gerrit Vits was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, ANTWERP FC's Timmy Bernaerts got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 38 minutes of play, ANTWERP FC's Henry Demeyer made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dave Leerbels was left in no man's land by his defense there! 42 minutes into the match, Stef Maeijnaerts notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of ANTWERP FC's Gerrit Vits. Gerrit Vits was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-5 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stef Maeijnaerts stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Matty Van Meerbek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Matty Van Meerbek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henry Demeyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Dave Leerbels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stef Maeijnaerts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerrit Vits having to interfere. Gerrit Vits made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Joachim Versluys sent off a good shot on target. 75 minutes into the game, Pieterjan Lache was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rotem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ANTWERP FC the free kick. In the 75th minute, Pieterjan Lache hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Stef Maeijnaerts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 played minutes ANTWERP FC got a freekick which was hit by Timmy Bernaerts. If Joachim Versluys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerrit Vits showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stef Maeijnaerts, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 99th minute Stef Maeijnaerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerrit Vits saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timmy Bernaerts during the 99th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the last second Gerrit Vits throw himself and got hold of the ball when Stef Maeijnaerts in the 101stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The Rotem players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
