After some careless play in the Molenbeek-Wersbeek defense, Jacque Raedemaeckers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Douglas Van Ghele. The Molenbeek-Wersbeek fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Douglas Van Ghele should have stopped the shot. Virelles's Reemy Tobbackers got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 35 minutes into the game, Francis Bouwmans threw the ball into play from the sideline. Molenbeek-Wersbeek's Thibaud de Cijser quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Thibaud de Cijser managed to get in a good position for a shot. Molenbeek-Wersbeek's supporters rose to their feet, but Thibaud de Cijser was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jozef Schrevens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andries Waterloos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jozef Schrevens having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Virelles's zone, Andries Waterloos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jozef Schrevens came out of the goal and Andries Waterloos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Andries Waterloos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gill Wery blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jozef Schrevens having to make a save. Jozef Schrevens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andries Waterloos in the 44th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reemy Tobbackers to make the kick off. When Jacque Raedemaeckers came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Virelles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacque Raedemaeckers couldn't finish the play. Douglas Van Ghele made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Jacque Raedemaeckers sent off a good shot on target. In the 57th match minute, Molenbeek-Wersbeek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andries Waterloos to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute Reemy Tobbackers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Van Ghele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 87 minutes, Gill Wery managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Molenbeek-Wersbeek's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gill Wery was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 89 minutes into the game, Jacque Raedemaeckers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Virelles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Molenbeek-Wersbeek the free kick. In the 89th minute, Jacque Raedemaeckers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st play minute Jacque Raedemaeckers came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Douglas Van Ghele. 0-4. Virelles's Jacque Raedemaeckers was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 96th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal.
