Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dimitri Matthijs kicked off to start the match. Diederiek Van den Inde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Diedrik Reiniers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diederiek Van den Inde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The long shot by Thys Konings in the 11th minute really tested Martijn Eekhout's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After having played for 12 minutes, Dimitri Matthijs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cercle Brugge's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dimitri Matthijs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claude Van de Velde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diedrik Reiniers having to interfere. Diedrik Reiniers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diederiek Van den Inde in the 26th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Cercle Brugge's Pieter De Hertoghe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martijn Eekhout narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dimitri Matthijs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The wind increased when Claude Van de Velde made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Dimitri Matthijs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martijn Eekhout was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pieter De Hertoghe in the 58th minute of play forced Brewers Gold's goalkeeper Martijn Eekhout to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brewers Gold's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pieter De Hertoghe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Pieter De Hertoghe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute Dimitri Matthijs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martijn Eekhout saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vic Langhmans hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Dimitri Matthijs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Claude Van de Velde came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Brewers Gold fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claude Van de Velde couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pieter De Hertoghe in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martijn Eekhout saved Brewers Gold from getting behind. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cercle Brugge fully deserved thier win.
