Max De Keijsere kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dimitri Matthijs in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luukas Klinkenberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dimitri Matthijs in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luukas Klinkenberg saved KSV Varenwinkel from getting behind. If Dimitri Matthijs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Luukas Klinkenberg managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Cercle Brugge's Dominick Baert fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luukas Klinkenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Martin in the 22nd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Cercle Brugge's goal looked a bit too open when Tommas de Reyck came free, but Diedrik Reiniers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Max De Keijsere fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dimitri Matthijs was the one to do the kick off. Dimitri Matthijs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luukas Klinkenberg having to interfere. If Dimitri Matthijs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. KSV Varenwinkel's Luukas Klinkenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Martin in the 59th minute of play. Dimitri Matthijs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Luukas Klinkenberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Dimitri Matthijs had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luukas Klinkenberg. KSV Varenwinkel's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dimitri Matthijs was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 77th minute Adam Martin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luukas Klinkenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Martin took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luukas Klinkenberg. Luukas Klinkenberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. If Dimitri Matthijs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cercle Brugge's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
