Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wim Hemelaers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes Styles having to interfere. Johannes Styles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Kerckmans in the 12th minute of the match. Wim Hemelaers scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Johannes Styles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 19 minutes into the match, Wim Hemelaers notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Zwarte Leeuw's Johannes Styles. Johannes Styles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 2860 Rechtsback's Herald Cuejvers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bram Van Malcot in the 27th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in 2860 Rechtsback's zone, Luuk Van den Bergen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Herald Cuejvers came out of the goal and Luuk Van den Bergen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Sebastian Kerckmans came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the 2860 Rechtsback fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Kerckmans couldn't finish the play. Herald Cuejvers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bram Van Malcot in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wim Hemelaers to strike the kick off in the second half. Herald Cuejvers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luuk Van den Bergen, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Luuk Van den Bergen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luuk Van den Bergen in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herald Cuejvers saved 2860 Rechtsback from getting behind. 2860 Rechtsback's Herald Cuejvers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bram Van Malcot in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute Luuk Van den Bergen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herald Cuejvers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the game, Zwarte Leeuw's Luuk Van den Bergen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Herald Cuejvers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Sebastian Kerckmans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Johannes Styles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bram Van Malcot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luuk Van den Bergen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herald Cuejvers having to interfere. In the 72nd match minute, 2860 Rechtsback was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Wigghers to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the match, Zwarte Leeuw's Bram Van Malcot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herald Cuejvers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Sebastian Kerckmans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, 2860 Rechtsback's Wim Hemelaers ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Johannes Styles. Johannes Styles yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Johannes Styles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Hemelaers in the 86th minute of the match. Johannes Styles was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wim Hemelaers showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 89 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Zwarte Leeuw's zone, Wim Hemelaers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johannes Styles came out of the goal and Wim Hemelaers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The 2860 Rechtsback supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing 2860 Rechtsback would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
