After 11 minutes, Benjamin Wigghers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 2860 Rechtsback and the KFC Galifort players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benjamin Wigghers kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After 14 played minutes 2860 Rechtsback got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Wigghers. In the 14th minute of the match Conrad Van Houtvinc shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Herald Cuejvers showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bert Hemeleers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sebastian Kerckmans in the 17th minute. Herald Cuejvers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yoeri Van der Perren in the 22nd minute of play. When Levi De Munck came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the KFC Galifort fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Levi De Munck couldn't finish the play. After 29 played minutes, KFC Galifort's Tommi Van de Schrieck shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Herald Cuejvers came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in KFC Galifort reached it. Sebastian Kerckmans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Levi De Munck in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herald Cuejvers saved 2860 Rechtsback from getting behind. The corner ended in Conrad Van Houtvinc almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but 2860 Rechtsback's Herald Cuejvers did a great save. 43 minutes into the game, Conrad Van Houtvinc was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KFC Galifort's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 2860 Rechtsback the free kick. The goalkeeper, Bert Hemeleers, was totally fooled by 2860 Rechtsback's Adam Van Beersel, who 44 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Wim Hemelaers made the kick off in the second half. 2860 Rechtsback were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after KFC Galifort's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adam Van Beersel took the corner. Sebastian Kerckmans made a great header on 2860 Rechtsback's corner, it was just that KFC Galifort's Bert Hemeleers managed to reach the ball for a save. Yoeri Van der Perren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herald Cuejvers having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roland Verhulst during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 64th match minute, 2860 Rechtsback was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Verhulst to maneuver through the defense. If Levi De Munck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 2860 Rechtsback's Sebastian Kerckmans got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 80 minutes into the match, KFC Galifort's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Hemelaers came free, but Bert Hemeleers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 2860 Rechtsback's Herald Cuejvers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save 2860 Rechtsback from getting a goal against them. The supporters of KFC Galifort booed when 2860 Rechtsback was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrez Van de cauter didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yoeri Van der Perren in the 91st minute of play forced 2860 Rechtsback's goalkeeper Herald Cuejvers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. KFC Galifort's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
