With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lode Nijs prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Herbesthal getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Charles Standaerts hit a great ball. Steve Dejonckheere recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Charles Standaerts kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Constant Van Boekost made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Loui Aelemans sent off a good shot on target. Westergem's Constant Van Boekost played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camiel Haeselaers in the 21st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Westergem's Stephen Van Aertvinck got a free kick in the 21st minute. Westergem's Constant Van Boekost proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Westergem from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute, Gust Van Den Eynde got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arthur-Maurits Enskens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lode Nijs having to interfere. Steve Dejonckheere sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Constant Van Boekost made an important save on a dangerous shot by Loui Aelemans in the 38th minute. Camiel Haeselaers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Westergem's zone, Camiel Haeselaers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Constant Van Boekost came out of the goal and Camiel Haeselaers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Steve Dejonckheere stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Steve Dejonckheere recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lode Nijs. Steve Dejonckheere showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. 56 minutes into the game, Herbesthal's Camiel Haeselaers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Constant Van Boekost made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Westergem's Constant Van Boekost played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camiel Haeselaers in the 64th minute of play. Lode Nijs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steve Dejonckheere, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steve Dejonckheere in the 67th minute of play forced Herbesthal's goalkeeper Lode Nijs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Westergem's goalkeeper Constant Van Boekost, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 83rd match minute, Herbesthal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Ceulemans to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes into the game, Camiel Haeselaers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Constant Van Boekost was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Loui Aelemans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Constant Van Boekost tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 95 minutes of play, Westergem's Arthur-Maurits Enskens made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lode Nijs was left in no man's land by his defense there! The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
