Frans Van Meenen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reinaud Verheijt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Reinaud Verheijt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Borgerhout fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, FC Pinanti's goal looked a bit too open when Reinaud Verheijt came free, but Frans Van Meenen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24thth minute of the game Reinaud Verheijt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Pinanti's Frans Van Meenen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 26th minute Daan Van Hoovelt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frans Van Meenen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The attack was good, but when Bram Smolders in the 28th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Reinaud Verheijt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frans Van Meenen having to interfere. Frans Van Meenen came out of the goal and Reinaud Verheijt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reinaud Verheijt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reinaud Verheijt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Frans Van Meenen having to make a save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bram Smolders stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in FC Pinanti's zone, Bram Smolders stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frans Van Meenen came out of the goal and Bram Smolders tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Armentier during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Daniel Armentier hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the game, Henry De Pauw was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Pinanti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Borgerhout the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Pinanti fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! Adam Descamps hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Frans Van Meenen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bram Smolders, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Reinaud Verheijt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Frans Van Meenen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Pinanti's Hugo Van den Inde got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 76th match minute, Borgerhout was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gino De Koq to maneuver through the defense. Eric Bosbeeck took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kobe Switten. Kobe Switten dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Borgerhout's Bram Smolders got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Borgerhout booed when FC Pinanti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nickolas Haemers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robben Vrijdag didn't quite understand what happened when in the 93 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Bram Smolders fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frans Van Meenen having to interfere.
