Claude Spoelbergs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Niki Van de cauter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Garry Verbeeck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Staf Schipmans having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Staf Dauwen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ciney's supporters rose to their feet, but Staf Dauwen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niki Van de cauter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 1-0 became the score in the 15th minute when Staf Dauwen elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ciney's Davy Roeckeloes got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute of the match Remco Oliviers sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Staf Schipmans skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Ciney booed when S52 Wonder Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remco Oliviers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claude Spoelbergs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Niki Van de cauter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Staf Dauwen took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Niki Van de cauter to make any attempt to save it. In the 44th minute, Ciney's Staf Dauwen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. When Staf Dauwen came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Ciney fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Staf Dauwen couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Staf Dauwen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Niki Van de cauter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 56 played minutes S52 Wonder Team got a freekick which was hit by Yoachim Van Laer. The audience was convinced that Claude Spoelbergs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Niki Van de cauter was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claude Spoelbergs in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Niki Van de cauter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. S52 Wonder Team's Niki Van de cauter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Staf Dauwen in the 64th minute of play. Claude Spoelbergs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Niki Van de cauter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Staf Dauwen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Staf Dauwen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claude Spoelbergs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th minute, Claude Spoelbergs made a precise shot to the right of Niki Van de cauter. S52 Wonder Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Staf Dauwen struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Niki Van de cauter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ciney. 86 minutes into the match, Davy Roeckeloes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Niki Van de cauter. S52 Wonder Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Davy Roeckeloes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Niki Van de cauter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Staf Dauwen in the 90th minute of the match. When Claude Spoelbergs came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Ciney fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claude Spoelbergs couldn't finish the play. Ciney walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
