After some careless play in the Apostrophe FZ defense, Frederic Huygens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yanniek Severens. The Apostrophe FZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yanniek Severens should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Diederik Vanden Berghe managed to get in a good position for a shot. K.K.A. Gent's supporters rose to their feet, but Diederik Vanden Berghe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yanniek Severens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Apostrophe FZ's zone, Frederic Huygens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat.
