In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pharmatoppers's goalkeeper Johnny Engelboorgs, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Johnny Engelboorgs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederic Huygens in the 22nd minute of the match. Bart Steenbecks's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paul-Louis Michiels read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Jules Sellekaers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. If Frederic Huygens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Bart Steenbecks, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 37 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Paul-Louis Michiels was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 39th minute of the match, Jules Sellekaers tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Paul-Louis Michiels saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The corner led to Pharmatoppers's Cedrik Oosters getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Pharmatoppers's Johnny Engelboorgs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frederic Huygens in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diederik Vanden Berghe was the one to do the kick off. When the referee ended the match the Pharmatoppers players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
