Jules Sellekaers started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Stijn De Ketelaere managed to get in a good position for a shot. Apostrophe FZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Stijn De Ketelaere was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnny Engelboorgs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brent-Jan De Wyngaert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Pharmatoppers's zone, Stijn De Ketelaere stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johnny Engelboorgs came out of the goal and Stijn De Ketelaere tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Johnny Engelboorgs managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Apostrophe FZ's Brent-Jan De Wyngaert fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Brent-Jan De Wyngaert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Bart Steenbecks ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yanniek Severens was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 28 minutes into the match, Bart Steenbecks had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yanniek Severens. Apostrophe FZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bart Steenbecks was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. 35 minutes into the match, Pharmatoppers's goalkeeper Johnny Engelboorgs had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brent-Jan De Wyngaert. When Gilbert Van Gestelt fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Apostrophe FZ's protests and gave Gilbert Van Gestelt a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pharmatoppers booed when Apostrophe FZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilbert Van Gestelt didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bjorn Kindermans in the 40th minute of play forced Apostrophe FZ's goalkeeper Yanniek Severens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jules Sellekaers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bart Steenbecks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Yanniek Severens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bart Steenbecks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Pharmatoppers were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stijn De Ketelaere made a kick off. Johnny Engelboorgs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stijn De Ketelaere in the 54th minute of the match. Adolf Breugelmans hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Jules Sellekaers might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yanniek Severens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jules Sellekaers ran back to his position shaking his head. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 62nd minute, but Yanniek Severens got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Apostrophe FZ hanging dry this time. If Jules Sellekaers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Apostrophe FZ's Gilbert Van Gestelt got his second yellow card of the match in the 68th minute. The referee ordered Gilbert Van Gestelt off the ground. Gilbert Van Gestelt hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Jules Sellekaers struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Yanniek Severens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pharmatoppers. After a rather tough play, Apostrophe FZ's Francis Versluys got a free kick in the 75th minute. Yanniek Severens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jules Sellekaers went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Bart Steenbecks who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Yanniek Severens when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Brent-Jan De Wyngaert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Johnny Engelboorgs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frederic Peten during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes Apostrophe FZ got a freekick which was hit by Frederic Peten. Jules Sellekaers struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Yanniek Severens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pharmatoppers. Pharmatoppers played a much better game than Apostrophe FZ and deserved their victory. The Apostrophe FZ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
