Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dre De Geyter took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute Dre De Geyter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lieven Cuelens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to STVV getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Alfred Vergau hit a great ball. Lieven Cuelens was a little too slow when Dre De Geyter got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 7th minute. The score was now 1-0. Rozen's Soren Cooreman suffered a sore thigh after 12 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Alfred Vergau's late challenge caught a Rozen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfred Vergau helped the player get up and apologised. After 13 played minutes STVV got a freekick which was hit by Alfred Vergau. Dre De Geyter struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Lieven Cuelens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rozen. In the 19th minute Roni Iwens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kasper Vercruysse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 20 minutes, Dre De Geyter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rozen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dre De Geyter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jacob Van Eijcke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roni Iwens scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kasper Vercruysse, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Jacob Van Eijcke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfred Vergau was shown his second yellow card after 33 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Jacob Meeuwissen struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Kasper Vercruysse didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for STVV. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dre De Geyter in the 45th minute of play forced STVV's goalkeeper Lieven Cuelens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roni Iwens made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Jacob Meeuwissen managed to get in a good position for a shot. STVV's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacob Meeuwissen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kasper Vercruysse breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 54 minutes into the match, Rozen's Jacob Van Eijcke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lieven Cuelens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 54 minutes, Mathias van Hacht mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the STVV and the Rozen players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Rozen booed when STVV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias van Hacht didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dre De Geyter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lieven Cuelens having to interfere. Lieven Cuelens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dre De Geyter's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Jacob Van Eijcke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Lieven Cuelens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind STVV's goalkeeper Lieven Cuelens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roni Iwens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute, Joseph Winnepenninck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sam-Lucas Imbrechs during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Rozen getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Sam-Lucas Imbrechs hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the match, STVV's goal looked a bit too open when Jacob Van Eijcke came free, but Lieven Cuelens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Despite being the better team, Rozen failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
