The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Kamiel Van Acht shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dominic Vissenaekens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kamiel Van Acht fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dominic Vissenaekens having to interfere. Ryan De Worteleere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dominic Vissenaekens having to interfere. After having played for 8 minutes, Ryan De Worteleere managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Geenske's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ryan De Worteleere was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Erembodegem's Mitch De Beer in 11 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Henrik Claessens guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Erembodegem's Dominic Vissenaekens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kamiel Van Acht in the 16th minute of play. Willy Goffyn hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Dominic Vissenaekens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kamiel Van Acht in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Glenn Geerts ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henrik Claessens was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Jannick Rompen's late challenge caught a Erembodegem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jannick Rompen helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glenn Geerts in the 30th minute of play forced FC Geenske's goalkeeper Henrik Claessens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Mitch De Beer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrik Claessens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Mitch De Beer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Erembodegem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After a rather tough play, Erembodegem's Constant Bauwmans got a free kick in the 38th minute. Erembodegem's Dominic Vissenaekens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kamiel Van Acht in the 39th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Glenn Geerts in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henrik Claessens saved FC Geenske from getting behind. If Mitch De Beer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mitch De Beer made a kick off. Henrik Claessens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mitch De Beer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kamiel Van Acht in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dominic Vissenaekens saved Erembodegem from getting behind. A collision led to Erembodegem getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Constant Bauwmans hit a great ball. Henrik Claessens was out of position in the 62 minute of play, and Mitch De Beer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mitch De Beer really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. After a rather tough play, Erembodegem's Constant Bauwmans got a free kick in the 65th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glenn Geerts got free with Henrik Claessens in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ryan De Worteleere received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Dominic Vissenaekens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kamiel Van Acht fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dominic Vissenaekens having to interfere. Mitch De Beer might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henrik Claessens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mitch De Beer ran back to his position shaking his head. Henrik Claessens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glenn Geerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Glenn Geerts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrik Claessens having to interfere. Mitch De Beer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henrik Claessens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Erembodegem left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Geenske.
