Mats De Kelper breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brian Verlinden blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mats De Kelper having to make a save. Mats De Kelper made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Brian Verlinden sent off a good shot on target. Bavo Spailer kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brian Verlinden in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mats De Kelper prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Corneel De Keuster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in rc reppel's zone, Corneel De Keuster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mats De Kelper came out of the goal and Corneel De Keuster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 44 minutes, Klaus Dechamps managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hesbania FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Klaus Dechamps was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mats De Kelper was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Brian Verlinden showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 47 minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mathias-Alexander de Pelsmacker made a kick off. Ronald Vanden Driessche's late challenge caught a Hesbania FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
