The supporters of Senior Citizens RC booed when Steenkerke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dimitry Hollanders didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jannick Capelle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luk Van Heurick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andre Lenoirs short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Jannick Capelle to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jerome Rauvoe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Declercq in the 13th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 15th minute by Andre Lenoir got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 19th minute, Jorge Declercq made a precise shot to the right of Jerome Rauvoe. Senior Citizens RC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luk Van Heurick in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jannick Capelle saved Steenkerke from getting behind. The supporters of Senior Citizens RC booed when Steenkerke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stan Van Der Elst didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, Steenkerke's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Andre Lenoir fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Luk Van Heurick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jannick Capelle was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Reinaert Van Langendonckx. In the 37th minute, Jorge Declercq left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Steenkerke fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Pierrot Van Nel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steenkerke's supporters rose to their feet, but Pierrot Van Nel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerome Rauvoe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andre Lenoir might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jannick Capelle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andre Lenoir ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half Steenkerke were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorge Declercq stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Luk Van Heurick came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Senior Citizens RC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luk Van Heurick couldn't finish the play. Jerome Rauvoe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Declercq's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. If Pierrot Van Nel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pierrot Van Nel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Jerome Rauvoe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jorge Declercq's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerome Rauvoe was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. A very good chance for a goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Steenkerke had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
