In the 23rdth minute of the game Jorge Declercq who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Torpedo Wietschoate's Claus Baeten was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 29th minute, Arnoud Martin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steenkerke's Maxim Raemakers couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 30th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Torpedo Wietschoate. When Steenkerke's Jorge Declercq in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Torpedo Wietschoate's goalie prevented a goal. Claus Baeten stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pierrot Van Nel's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Steenkerke's goal looked a bit too open when Gerard Snieders came free, but Jannick Capelle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gerard Snieders to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Steenkerke's zone, Gerard Snieders stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jannick Capelle came out of the goal and Gerard Snieders tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gerard Snieders received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Jannick Capelle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jannick Capelle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerard Snieders, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the match, Torpedo Wietschoate's Rajmond Gyselinckx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jannick Capelle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 68 minutes into the match, Torpedo Wietschoate's goalkeeper Claus Baeten had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pierrot Van Nel. Pierrot Van Nel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claus Baeten having to interfere. 72 minutes in the game, Jorge Declercq fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Claus Baeten having to interfere. If Gerard Snieders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute Jorge Declercq shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claus Baeten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maxim Raemakers's late challenge caught a Torpedo Wietschoate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maxim Raemakers helped the player get up and apologised. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Steenkerke had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
