When Pierre-Olivier Degryse came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the De Fenix boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pierre-Olivier Degryse couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pierre-Olivier Degryse in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lenny Thys prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 16th match minute, egerci was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mark Roulin to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, De Fenix boys's Diederik Van Maestricht tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Lenny Thys stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pierre-Olivier Degryse's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Pierre-Olivier Degryse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lenny Thys didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fernand de Pelsmaker went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, De Fenix boys's Kieth Coopmans got a free kick in the 37th minute. Pierre-Olivier Degryse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pierre-Olivier Degryse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lenny Thys having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pierre-Olivier Degryse was the one to do the kick off. If Fernand de Pelsmaker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Remie Wautiers fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored egerci's protests and gave Remie Wautiers a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of De Fenix boys booed when egerci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remie Wautiers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lenny Thys made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernand de Pelsmaker in the 74th minute. After having played for 75 minutes, Pierre-Olivier Degryse managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. De Fenix boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pierre-Olivier Degryse was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 77 in the game by Fernand de Pelsmaker from a close distance when the talented Lenny Thys managed to make a qualified save. egerci's players were relieved. De Fenix boys's Diederik De Ceuster got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, egerci's Jannic Schamp got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 86 minutes into the match, Fernand de Pelsmaker had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lenny Thys. egerci's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernand de Pelsmaker was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Pierre-Olivier Degryse managed to get in a good position for a shot. De Fenix boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Pierre-Olivier Degryse was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lenny Thys breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lenny Thys made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre-Olivier Degryse in the 95th minute of play. De Fenix boys played a much better game than egerci and deserved their victory. The egerci players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
