Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) FC Sint-Truiden's Sebbe Van Linthoudt started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. FC Sint-Truiden's Lennart Verengen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save FC Sint-Truiden from getting a goal against them. Lennart Verengen made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Natan Raeijmaeckers sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebbe Van Linthoudt in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dimitri Vissenaeckens saved FC Gerbalona from getting behind. If Dries Taverniers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Natan Raeijmaeckers in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lennart Verengen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Natan Raeijmaeckers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lennart Verengen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Dimitri Vissenaeckens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ief De Scheper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Gerbalona's Dimitri Vissenaeckens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lukas Soetemans in the 23rd minute of play. If Natan Raeijmaeckers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natan Raeijmaeckers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Lennart Verengen made a huge save. Jeffery Van Hoeij struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Lennart Verengen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Gerbalona. Dimitri Vissenaeckens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ief De Scheper in the 39th minute of the match. FC Gerbalona's Natan Raeijmaeckers was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 40th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC Sint-Truiden's zone, Natan Raeijmaeckers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lennart Verengen came out of the goal and Natan Raeijmaeckers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Dries Taverniers made the kick off in the second half. Natan Raeijmaeckers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Lennart Verengen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lennart Verengen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dries Taverniers, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Lennart Verengen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dries Taverniers went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Natan Raeijmaeckers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC Sint-Truiden's zone, Natan Raeijmaeckers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lennart Verengen came out of the goal and Natan Raeijmaeckers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd match minute, FC Sint-Truiden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raymond Van De Wyngaert to maneuver through the defense. Natan Raeijmaeckers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lennart Verengen having to interfere. If Natan Raeijmaeckers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Gerbalona's Klaus Van Mellart was substituted for Ignace Verheijden. 84 minutes into the match, Jeffery Van Hoeij notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of FC Sint-Truiden's Lennart Verengen. Lennart Verengen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A sloppy throw-in by Ramon Rousseau in the 89th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FC Gerbalona's Wouter Dumont. In the 90th minute Wouter Dumont shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lennart Verengen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lennart Verengen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Natan Raeijmaeckers's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Gerbalona had played much better football throughout.
