An unexpectedly hard shot by Christiaan Van den Berghe in the 13th minute of play forced AA Buffalo's goalkeeper Ivan Van Hoof to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Christiaan Van den Berghe came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the VJ Baardegem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christiaan Van den Berghe couldn't finish the play. After 35 minutes, Thierry Kerstens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AA Buffalo and the VJ Baardegem players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to AA Buffalo getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Thierry Kerstens hit a great ball. Ivan Van Hoof showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerard Vandenberge in the 36th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Christiaan Van den Berghe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ivan Van Hoof came out of the goal and Christiaan Van den Berghe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christiaan Van den Berghe was the one to do the kick off. Ivan Van Hoof showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christiaan Van den Berghe, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute, Thierry Kerstens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xander Matthys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Christiaan Van den Berghe came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the VJ Baardegem fans jumped to their feet. In a very dangerous position, a player in AA Buffalo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 75th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Ivan Van Hoof, was totally fooled by VJ Baardegem's Maxim-Alexander Van der Goten, who 76 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Gerard Vandenberge could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Ivan Van Hoof made a huge save. Christiaan Van den Berghe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Van Hoof having to interfere. After having played for 91 minutes, Gerard Vandenberge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VJ Baardegem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerard Vandenberge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. AA Buffalo's Ivan Van Hoof played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christiaan Van den Berghe in the 96th minute of play. VJ Baardegem's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
