In the 27th minute, Berten Pannekoek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, FC MooiBoys's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Roofhoof came free, but Axell Demeester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Axell Demeester made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Koen Hemelaers sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tom Roofhoof in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Axell Demeester prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, FC MooiBoys's Ramon Adriens got a free kick in the 40th minute. Tom Roofhoof sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, SL Benfica's Tom Roofhoof sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Axell Demeester narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ewout Rijmenams during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Axell Demeester made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After having played for 67 minutes, Tom Roofhoof managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SL Benfica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tom Roofhoof was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Koen Hemelaers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Axell Demeester tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ewout Rijmenams was shown his second yellow card after 76 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 77th match minute, SL Benfica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ewout Rijmenams to maneuver through the defense. Koen Hemelaers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Axell Demeester tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
