After 24 minutes, Dante Gijselinkx mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Doische and the RC Mechelen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Doische's Dante Gijselinkx got a free kick in the 24th minute. The referee gave Matthy Loosen a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Matthy Loosen kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcus Du Bois was the one to do the kick off.
