Ewout Deckers was out of position in the 5 minute of play, and Vicente Schautens capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vicente Schautens really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Edmond Nijs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dries Van Aghten having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bas Van Hespe in the 24th minute of play forced Haringe's goalkeeper Dries Van Aghten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Edmond Nijs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Malle's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmond Nijs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dries Van Aghten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ewout Deckers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Schautens in the 32nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Club Malle's zone, Vicente Schautens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ewout Deckers came out of the goal and Vicente Schautens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Bas Van Hespe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dries Van Aghten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmond Nijs, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After 47 minutes, Rocky Vanden Berghe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Haringe and the Club Malle players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th match minute, Haringe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rocky Vanden Berghe to maneuver through the defense. Club Malle's Bas Van Hespe got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bas Van Hespe to strike the kick off in the second half. Haringe's Rocky Vanden Berghe got his second yellow card of the match in the 52nd minute. The referee ordered Rocky Vanden Berghe off the ground. After 53 played minutes Haringe got a freekick which was hit by Rocky Vanden Berghe. In the 54th match minute, Club Malle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bas Van Hespe to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute, Vicente Schautens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Haringe's Benjamin Van der Weijden got a free kick in the 59th minute. Dries Van Aghten stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bas Van Hespe's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. If Edmond Nijs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 64 minutes into the game, when Matias Van Leempten put in a rough tackle. When the match had been going on for 66 minutes, Club Malle's Arnold Peters got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Dries Van Aghten. Bas Van Hespe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dries Van Aghten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dyllen Rummens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, Haringe's goal looked a bit too open when Bas Van Hespe came free, but Dries Van Aghten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haringe's Dries Van Aghten proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Haringe from getting a goal against them. Dries Van Aghten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bas Van Hespe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Malle's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
