Alex Rosbach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeff Coenens having to interfere. Lucas Bernardts could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Jeff Coenens made a huge save. Matijs Van Clijnebreugel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jeff Coenens. Mutshagen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jan-Simon Deschrijver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 78 played minutes Mutshagen got a freekick which was hit by Thobias Dierickx. Lucas Bernardts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Jeff Coenens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86thth minute of the game Jan-Simon Deschrijver who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Petegem's Julien Gebuers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Jan-Simon Deschrijver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jeff Coenens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Rosbach, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Jeff Coenens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Rosbach in the 95th minute of the match. Petegem walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
