Yanniek Lefevere breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yelle Van Collenborgh's late challenge caught a Relst's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Yanniek Lefevere showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loid Van de kauter, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. When Harald Hemeleers came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Relst fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harald Hemeleers couldn't finish the play. Arne Eli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harald Hemeleers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harald Hemeleers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Eli having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in AFC Vlissegem's zone, Herman Bracke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arne Eli came out of the goal and Herman Bracke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Harald Hemeleers in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arne Eli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Herman Bracke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the game, Relst's Harald Hemeleers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arne Eli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Herman Bracke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute.
