When Carel Vermeulen fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ADO Den Haag's protests and gave Carel Vermeulen a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, ADO Den Haag's Carel Vermeulen got a free kick in the 6th minute. Maurice Machiels made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natan Van De Gehuchte in the 11th minute of play. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Ief Vercalsteren sped through ADO Den Haag's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Maurice Machiels. Maurice Machiels took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natan Van De Gehuchte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Ief Vercalsteren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maurice Machiels was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Jorg Van de Put hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Natan Van De Gehuchte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurice Machiels having to interfere. Natan Van De Gehuchte was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 32nd minute. SC Internacional's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. With an all-out effort, SC Internacional's Maurice Machiels threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Natan Van De Gehuchte, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ief Vercalsteren in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Maurice Machiels, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. ADO Den Haag's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Natan Van De Gehuchte scored to the left of an out of position Maurice Machiels, making the score, 3-0. ADO Den Haag's Maurice Machiels proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save ADO Den Haag from getting a goal against them. Ief Vercalsteren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurice Machiels having to interfere. After 43 minutes, Ief Vercalsteren made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. ADO Den Haag's Maurice Machiels tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Natan Van De Gehuchte to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bram Beets in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yanick Van Steen saved SC Internacional from getting behind. Maurice Verheije struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Yanick Van Steen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ADO Den Haag. 59 minutes into the match, SC Internacional's goal looked a bit too open when Bram Beets came free, but Yanick Van Steen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Internacional's goalkeeper Yanick Van Steen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hans Wolput recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SC Internacional's Natan Van De Gehuchte got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Natan Van De Gehuchte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurice Machiels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natan Van De Gehuchte, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After a rather tough play, ADO Den Haag's Ivan Van Deuren got a free kick in the 87th minute. Yanick Van Steen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierrot Van Hoovelt in the 90th minute of play.
