The corner ended in Edgard De Vleeschauwer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but The Jersey's Raymond Maeijnarts did a great save. In the 8th minute, Ivo Ooms ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raymond Maeijnarts was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. If Ivo Ooms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Fenerbahçe SK's zone, Klaus Dedecker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David De Kerper came out of the goal and Klaus Dedecker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Fenerbahçe SK's Pascal Pelgrims got a free kick in the 17th minute. When Pascal Pelgrims fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fenerbahçe SK's protests and gave Pascal Pelgrims a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd minute, Pascal Pelgrims hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of The Jersey booed when Fenerbahçe SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willem Vissenakens didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute Rob Smoors shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David De Kerper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Klaus Dedecker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David De Kerper read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Ivo Ooms could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Raymond Maeijnarts made a huge save. David De Kerper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Klaus Dedecker in the 34th minute of play. Raymond Maeijnarts made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivo Ooms in the 35th minute. Ivo Ooms sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raymond Maeijnarts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arda Güler, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of The Jersey:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fenerbahçe SK:s goal. The goalkeeper, Raymond Maeijnarts, was totally fooled by Fenerbahçe SK's Edgard De Vleeschauwer, who 44 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Ivo Ooms sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Arda Güler in the 53rd minute of play forced The Jersey's goalkeeper Raymond Maeijnarts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rob Smoors could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but David De Kerper made a huge save. Arda Güler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivo Ooms fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raymond Maeijnarts having to interfere. Ivo Ooms might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Raymond Maeijnarts. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivo Ooms ran back to his position shaking his head. When Fenerbahçe SK's Arda Güler in 70 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Raymond Maeijnarts guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. A collision led to Fenerbahçe SK getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Pascal Pelgrims hit a great ball. 76 minutes into the match, The Jersey's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo Ooms came free, but Raymond Maeijnarts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arda Güler blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raymond Maeijnarts having to make a save. Ivo Ooms received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Raymond Maeijnarts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benny Suetens charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benny Suetens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After recieving a nice pass, The Jersey's Viktor Van Laeck tried to score from far away in the 84th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ivo Ooms received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Raymond Maeijnarts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fenerbahçe SK's Ivo Ooms got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Jersey's Klaus Dedecker got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raymond Maeijnarts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arda Güler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 99th minute Fenerbahçe SK were awarded a corner. Edgard De Vleeschauwer went to the cornerflag to take it. The Jersey's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
