The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Brend Baeten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luckas Baert, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 10th minute Lorenz Pellegrims shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Stuckers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute of the match, Cedric Van de Put got a very nice opportunity to score, but Roger Stuckers was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After some careless play in the RSC Moderscheid defense, Luckas Baert kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brend Baeten. The RSC Moderscheid fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brend Baeten should have stopped the shot. Cedric Van de Put struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute, Lorenz Pellegrims fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Roger Stuckers, passed just outside the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kristof Van Hoyveldt in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brend Baeten prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roger Stuckers came out of the goal and Cedric Van de Put tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lorenz Pellegrims to strike the kick off in the second half. Cedric Van de Put received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Roger Stuckers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
